The Passion of North Idaho
North Idaho has been my family's home since the early 1900s.
I regularly walk by their first house on 4th Street, and sometimes I stop to imagine what their vision of the town was for their great-grandchildren, including me. It fills me with happiness to still be in the place they called home.
My great-grandfather, C.H. Potts, made significant contributions to this community. He served as the first standing district attorney in Coeur d'Alene, the 7th Mayor of Coeur d'Alene, a member of the Idaho Senate, and was the head of the Elks building in downtown Coeur d'Alene on 5th Street. I also treasure the dresses my great-grandmother and grandmother wore to town gatherings.
Growing up here, I have been able to appreciate this walkable Lake City in so many different ways, during so many different times. I've watched the trees on Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive grow from saplings to providing shade for those traveling along the Centennial Trail. I've witnessed the incredible growth of our small community and wanted to create a space where businesses could share information, community events, new ventures, and more.
Having seen friends become local business owners and small ventures turn into bigger opportunities, I wish to foster that growth for others. My goal is to create a community-based directory that represents the unique local culture. There are many underrepresented businesses online, and I aim to offer a place where they can be featured and have a web presence. I look forward to giving back to the place that has given me so much.
Sincerely,
